I Never Thought I Would Actually Sleep!!!

As an insomnia sufferer, sleep is usually almost nonexistent. I'm very lucky if I get 2 hours of good sleep on a normal night. I toss, turn, throw Jon off of me, go back to cuddling, end up sideways, just to try to get comfortable enough to sleep. Last night, that ALL CHANGED!!!! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074WPWZ99 This product has SAVED my sleep life! It's a Venuscare sleep silk mask. It blocks out all light, applies just enough pressure to help me fall asleep and stay asleep. Normally, I don't like products covering my eyes while I'm sleeping, but I put this to the test; as it claims to not smudge your make-up. That is probably the only thing that they claimed that wasn't true! I slept over 6 uninterrupted hours of deep deep sleep and I loved it. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone. The silk mask is extremely soft, durable, and doesn't make me feel suffocated when I am wearing it. I felt secure and comfortable. The strap is adjustable so m...

Going to Breed CRICKETS?!?!

A little thing about us, we're big on saving money when we can; and we like to do things the natural way (example: We Cloth Diaper). We have two snakes and two bearded dragons. With that, the cost of rats for the snakes and crickets for our dragons can become costly, so we've decided to go ahead and attempt to breed the crickets!!! I'm actually pretty excited about it. I've learned so far that they can eat Baby Rice Cereal, which oddly enough I have an abundance of it. They can also eat fruits and vegetables, which we buy a lot of anyways, so that will help our waste costs go down. So far, I have a tote filled with tubes, egg cartons, their food, and more. I also have about 200 crickets that are in there. I need to get some top soil in there so they can hatch and lay their eggs. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to set up our tote or anything else, feel free to comment below! ~Until Next Time

Depression is just a big B word.

I've been battling depression for as long as I can remember. I have always been that easily picked on kid because I was "too nice," "too weird," and just overall felt a sense of hatred from my fellow peers even from an early age. I was extremely nice to anyone and everyone because I was taught from a young age that you get what you put out into the world; and I still see that even in today's society. I'm not going to go into an extremely in depth blog post about my triggers for depression or what has caused my depression because quite frankly, it's an entire book, not a blog post. But today, I got out of bed. Maybe just to get my kids fed, cleaned up, and relaxing because they're sick; but I also got myself to the couch. As I am sick too. But I did get out of bed. Small victories, my friends, small victories. For those of you who are battling depression, please remember to celebrate even the small victories like changing your clothes, br...

Maybe One Day I'll Have My Life Together.

I suck at holding myself accountable for the everyday tasks that need to get done; like exercise, laundry, dishes, etc. BUT that stops today. I'm going to start holding myself accountable for everything that needs to be done in my life. Yes, this blog post is going to be short, but I promise as the next few weeks happen, I will be posting more and more. I'm hoping posting to the blog will help me hold myself accountable for all things that I need to do. There are no excuses, but I have been suffering from my depression severely; to the point where getting out of bed every day is a chore. I'm done feeling like this. I need to exercise to increase some happy endorphins and I need to laundry more because I'm sure my 3 year old is tired of running around in just pajamas all day (though that does make it easier when it is bed time). I have some great products coming to me for review, so I need to get my life together! ~Until Next Time

Not Normal, Is Our Normal

I woke up this morning and just couldn't bring myself to get out of bed. Not out of depression, but I literally couldn't get out of bed. A fever, sore throat, etc. As a mom, we all know that I'm not able to take a sick day. Thankfully, I have a wonder significant other who has helped me with our girls all day, and I got to ACTUALLY stay in bed trying to feel better. I ended up going to our local urgent care... Sinus infection. Woo! Our latest adventure took us to the lake to fish. Ema got an early Christmas gift from Santa, her very own fishing pole! A Frozen one. She's obsessed with Frozen currently. It was a decent day so we decided to go out. There was sand on the lake side. Ema learned to cast her pole and real it in. It has been great for her hand eye coordination. Next visit, we will be actually giving her a hook and bait in the hopes that she will maybe catch a fish. I honestly can't wait to see her reaction when she does catch her own fish. I ended up le...

A Slight Introduction Into The Beginning Of Our Chaotic Life

Sometimes when beginning something new, like this blog for instance, you don't know where to begin. So let's begin with the RIGHT NOW. Jon and Emarosa are blissfully playing right next to me. While it's making typing this extremely difficult, I wouldn't trade the laughter for anything. Who am I? I am Mom... Okay, not all the time. I am the Queen of the household, but you can call me Nicole. I will be one of the two people who post to this thing, trying to hold myself accountable for expressing my everyday life. For sharing the absolutely personal aspects of my life and creating them into something good for this world.... Maybe? Jon will be also posting to this blog. He's the man, the king, who has stepped up to assist me with these two beautiful girls that I have created; not alone of course, but that's a whole different story for a rainy day. He's my partner in crime. He can introduce himself at a later time. Now for the princesses, Emarosa and Luna...
